Some Prayers to Use

Our School Prayer

Dear God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
Please give us the courage to stand up in a crowd,
Please give us the unity to work together,
Please let us have inspiration so that we can encourage one another,
Please give us love and let us learn from Your selfless love,
Please give us the strength to keep these values for the rest of our lives.
Hear this, dear Lord,
This prayer from all our hearts.
Amen

Dear Lord,

We thank you for food and water and that we have a good education at our school. Our school is a good place to be, because every one of our pupils gets a good education every year, and our school food is healthy and the school is safe. Amen.

A Prayer for our Friends and Families

Almighty God, you are the loving Father of the whole world.
We pray that you will care for those who we love and for those who love and support us, especially our families and our friends.
Guide us by your Holy Spirit, always to think and to do those things that are right.
Help us to care for each other and to follow your holy will.
We ask this through Jesus Christ Our Lord,
Amen

A Prayer for the Day

I start with thanks, and then give praise
For all your kind and loving ways.

Today if sunshine turns to rain,
If a dark cloud brings some pain,
I won't doubt or hide in fear
For you, my God, are always near.

I will travel where you lead;
I will help my friends in need.
Where you send me I will go;
With your help I'll learn and grow.

Hold my family in your hands,
As we follow your commands.
And I will keep you close in sight
Until I go to bed tonight. Amen

A Prayer for a Sick Child

Lord, I know you love all children.
Please bring healing to our brother or sister
who is not well.
Stay by their side and comfort them
through this trying time.
Keep us ever mindful of your loving presence. Bless us and comfort us
with your powerful healing.
Thank you for hearing our prayer.

Dear Lord,

We love how you have made our school
and everyone loves how you gave us
our families and friends for the
rest of our lives when we go through
tough and easier times.
Thank you for the world.
Amen

For Friends

Dear Lord,
We are looking at being friends at the moment.
Help us all to be kind.
Help us all to be friends.
Help us to smile.
Amen

A Responsive Lord's Prayer

Our Father in Heaven,
Remind us constantly that you are parent to all your children,
Whoever, or wherever they are or come from.

Hallowed be your name.
Your Kingdom come,
Establishing peace and justice, hope and life for all peoples.

Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Disturb us into awareness of the needs of others.

Forgive us our sins,
Our pride and our prejudices.

As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation,
Especially keep our hearts and minds open
To see the good in others.

Deliver us from evil. For the kingdom,
Just and true,

The power,
Gentle and fair,

And the glory,
Alive with the colours of your creation,

Are yours for ever and ever.
Amen.

The Lord's Prayer

The Lord's Prayer is the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples, when they asked him how they should pray. Take a look at the following website which has videos from people explaining what they like most about the Lord's Prayer and what it means to them.
