OFSTED and SIAMS Inspection success at Bishop Aldhelm’s CE Primary School


Bishop Aldhelm’s are celebrating two successful inspections in November 2023 and February 2022, by
SIAMS and Ofsted. In these reports, Ofsted rate the school as ‘Good’ and SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of
Anglican and Methodist Schools) recognise that the school continues to living up to its foundation as a
Church school.


The reports highlight parents and carers speaking positively with regards to the impact of
support they have, with one parent reporting ‘our lives have been transformed’.


In addition the school have been praised for a curriculum that is shaped by the vision, designed to provide
‘guidance, wisdom and support for learning and life’. At Bishop Aldhelm’s, pupils experience enriching and
life enhancing opportunities to become confident, resourceful and resilient members of society.


The report shines with positivity further recognising how the school is creating a strong and united school
community, with pupils being nurtured to look beyond themselves and to support others. They are given
numerous opportunities to develop leadership skills and deepen their understanding of justice and
responsibility through a variety of different roles.


Ofsted recognised that the school’s vision statement, ‘Loved by God: United in Learning’, pervades
everything that takes place. Pupils’ respectful behaviour shows the care they feel for each other.
Leaders have high expectations of staff and pupils. The result is a harmonious school of which the
community is proud.


Staff do all they can to enrich pupils’ learning. The school were praised for the diversity of free available
clubs availablefor all children from learning sign language to sailing. Educational visits are also diverse with
previous opportunitities including children visiting China, with reciprocal visits from Chinese pupils to extend
their global and cultural knowledge.

 

OFSTED

Bishop Aldhelm's C.E. Primary School was last inspected by OFSTED (Office for Standards in Education) in February 2022.  OFSTED confirmed all judgements from its previous inspection and continues to be a GOOD school.

Bishop Aldhelm’s C.E. V.A. Primary School's previous inspection by OFSTED (Office for Standards in Education) was in June 2015 when we were delighted to be judged as a GOOD school with outstanding features.

SIAMS

As a Church of England school, Bishop Aldhelm’s C.E. Primary School also receives a SIAMS Inspection (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools).  Our last SIAMS Inspection was in November 2016 when our provision was judged to be OUTSTANDING.
