Upper Key Stage Two
Welcome to Upper Key Stage Two
We are delighted to welcome you to the Upper Key Stage Two page. Years 5 and 6 represent the final stage of primary school and are a crucial time in your child’s educational journey. This phase brings increased opportunities, higher expectations, and the chance for pupils to truly shine—both academically and personally—as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.
Explore more about our UKS2 provision, curriculum maps, and how we support every child to thrive by clicking the tabs to look through specific components of the Year 5 and 6 classes. The Topic Overviews are especially exciting; they contain hyperlinks to help you support your child's learning.
Upper Key Stage 2: Gearing Up for Success!
During UKS2, children begin to apply their knowledge with greater independence and confidence. The curriculum becomes more challenging, encouraging deeper thinking, greater problem-solving skills, and more sophisticated reading, writing, and mathematical reasoning.
It’s a time when pupils grow in maturity, resilience, and responsibility. They develop essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, self-discipline, and time management. Whether through taking on school roles, participating in enrichment activities, or preparing for secondary school.
We want every child to leave Year 6 knowing they are valued, capable, and ready—ready to embrace new opportunities, contribute positively to their communities, and continue growing into the best version of themselves.
Every child learns at their own pace. We offer tailored support to ensure all our pupils feel challenged and motivated, reaching their full potential.
