Our current reflection...

In our collective worships this week, we have been focusing on the feeling of peace during Advent. Christians reflect during the time of Advent on the provision of God’s care and asking for peace around the world.

John 14:27

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Dear God, Help us to find peace during this busy advent season. Support us to stop and give thanks for the things that we have. Amen

Psalm 23

Psalm 23 has become a favourite for the children at our school. It is a Psalm that reminds us that God is protecting us and guiding us through every day! We have tried hard to learn this Psalm in our worship times and learn about how our school values are shown through this Psalm. Why not give it a read here?

The LORD is my shepherd; I have everything I need.

He lets me rest in fields of green grass and leads me to quiet pools of fresh water. He gives me new strength.

He guides me in the right paths, as he has promised. Even if I go through the deepest darkness,

I will not be afraid, LORD, for you are with me. Your shepherd's rod and staff protect me.

You prepare a banquet for me, where all my enemies can see me;you welcome me as an honoured guest

and fill my cup to the brim. I know that your goodness and love will be with me all my life; and your house will be my home as long as I live.

Here we learn that Jesus is our shepherd - He leads and inspires us, He provides us with food, drink and a place to sleep, He also protects us and walks with us through difficult times. Much like the leaders in our lives - parents, teachers or people in authority - Jesus gives us advice and guidance to show us the best way to live.

See if you can learn our special school Psalm off by heart!

Our Psalm 23 Prayer
